Here, I focused on creating and branding a fictitious film festival. I chose two directors, Wes Anderson and Sofia Coppola, and found a theme between their bodies of work. I discovered that each of their works focused on dysfunctional dynamics and looked at these dynamics through rose-tinted glasses.
This was subtly reflected in the designs through utilizing elegant transformations of common structures; using silhouetted chairs to represent individuals in relationships, and juxtaposing them together to create subtle dysfunction.
The branding system consists of a logo, wordmark and a lockup. This was applied to a visual language that was translated and expanded on into a 30-second “spot” and festival Instagram page.
